For sale is an old ThinkPad T61p. This beast has a lovely x 15.4" screen, a Core 2 Duo T at 2.4GHz. and is maxed out at 4gb of RAM It has discreet nVidia graphics -- Quadro FX 570M, which will happily fly along using GeForce drivers with good results. This was top of the line back in the day and still holds its own even now.
Modifications: I flashed this with a whitelist BIOS, which means you can put any hard drive and any wifi card in it. (It was locked to only certain models before.) The wifi card has subsequently been replaced, as the stock Intel one seemed to be defective. Atheros something in there now.
Downsides: The screen is a little dim, but that's standard for this screen at this age. I've lost the hard drive caddy but you can get one dirt cheap (like $2) for free shipping on a certain auction site starting with e. And the battery is shot, which is irritating because I bought it new last year but it's third-party and therefore suspect.
This thing traveled halfway around the world with me until I replaced it with something smaller and lighter (because travel). Now I'm home and have too many computers. =) I don't have room to give it dedicated desk space so it's time to move it along to someone who can use it.
Pics available on request, I'm on a twisted knee right now so moving as little as possible.
